Why we sort before disposal
Treating everything as waste by default is wasteful in itself. Before anything is taken to be recycled or disposed of, we look at what can be reused or donated to charity where possible, so items in good condition get a second life rather than being thrown away automatically.
The rest is sorted by material where practical, so recyclable items are recycled rather than mixed in with genuine waste, and only what cannot be reused or recycled ends up going to landfill.
